Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Adam Svensson have emerged as the leaders at the storm-hit TPC Sawgrass, following the first round of the Players Championship. The two golfers played some exceptional golf despite having to deal with the extreme weather conditions that resulted in a nearly three-hour delay. Bezuidenhout, who hails from South Africa, played flawlessly, making six birdies and missing only one fairway en route to a seven-under-par 65. Svensson, on the other hand, got off to a hot start with back-to-back birdies on the first two holes, and he never looked back, carding a six-under-par 66. The two players hold a one-shot lead over the rest of the field and will look to build on their impressive start in the second round. The Players Championship is one of the most prestigious events on the PGA Tour and attracts some of the best players in the world, which makes Bezuidenhout and Svensson’s performances even more impressive. While it’s still early days in the tournament, the two golfers have positioned themselves nicely, and it promises to be an exciting weekend of golf at TPC Sawgrass.
