“Diamondbacks Dominate Padres 9-0 as Gallen Extends Scoreless Streak”

Zac Gallen of the Arizona Diamondbacks continued his impressive scoreless streak in a dominant performance against the San Diego Padres on Friday night, pitching seven innings of two-hit ball to earn the win in a 9-0 victory.

Gallen’s scoreless streak now stands at 21 2/3 innings, the longest in the majors, and the 27-year-old right-hander has been a bright spot for the Diamondbacks this season. Against the Padres, Gallen retired 14 straight batters during one stretch and struck out 11 while walking none. “Today was a special day for Zac Gallen,” D-backs manager Torey Lovullo said. “He had all of his stuff, all of his pitches working. You know he’s on his game.”

The Diamondbacks got on the board in the fourth inning, taking a 1-0 lead on Gabriel Moreno’s infield single that drove in Christian Walker.
