“The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series may have two Fan Edition versions”

Samsung is set to release two cheaper Fan Edition (FE) models as part of its Galaxy Tab S9 series. The rumour mill has been churning for several weeks and tech insider SamMobile believes it has discovered the model numbers that relate to the new devices.

The SM-X516B and SM-X616B are thought to be the budget-level versions of the Tab S9 series, which would mark a departure from the conventional SM-X716, SM-X816 and SM-X916 model numbers associated with the Tab S9, Tab S9 Plus and Tab S9 Ultra.

Samsung previously released an FE tablet in 2021, but it wasn’t included in the Galaxy Tab S8 range that launched the following year. The SM-X516B and SM-X616B may represent Samsung’s reintroduction of the FE model after a brief hiatus.

The devices are expected to be fitted with a mid-range Exynos 1380 chipset and be available with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM. They should come alongside the main Tab S9 tablets in August or September.
